Our Foundation Programme introduces you to the style of teaching that best prepares you for degree level studies with lectures, tutorials and seminars such as the ones below.
Psychology is the science of behaviour and the mind. It uses a variety of scientific methods to explore key areas, including the influence that our biology has on behaviour; the ways in which we develop from early infancy to adulthood; the ways in which we perceive, think, solve problems and make decisions; and the way we interact with each other. Our programmes focus on real world issues and consider how psychological theory and knowledge can be applied to resolve them.
Psychology graduates are employed in a wide range of occupational roles in commercial organisations, the non-governmental sector, educational institutions, and government, where their theoretical knowledge can be put into practice.
This programme is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). In accordance with our normal practice our professionally orientated programmes are designed to meet the educational requirements for membership of relevant professional institutions. In addition to recognition within Malaysia, we seek accreditation by the relevant UK or international professional bodies in accordance with their standard procedures.
Psychology graduates generally progress to a wide variety of careers, including business, teaching, counselling, nursing, social work, probation work and market research. Psychology graduates may also progress in the profession itself by training as clinical, educational, forensic, health or sports psychologists.

Psychology is the scientific study of the relationship between mind and behaviour. It asks why people, in general, behave as they do and why some people behave in unexpected or a typical ways. Findings from psychological studies help us to enhance people’s everyday experiences and improve lives.
Psychologists employ a wide range of research skills such as observation, surveys and experiments. This Bachelor’s degree aims to introduce you to these scientific methods and the critical evaluations that go into answering important questions from a psychological perspective.

The degree knowledge and skills lead to a wide range of occupational roles in commercial organisations, educational institutions, government, and NGO sectors. Examples include human resources, market research, advertising and public relations, sales, teaching, counselling, and social work.
Teaching methods range from lectures, tutorial classes and mentor sessions, to computer-based laboratory activities supported by group and individual projects. Assessment is by examination, coursework, presentations, group project and individual project, the balance being appropriate to the different teaching methods used in the courses.

The EmPOWER Programme is a 4-level structured programme anchored by six developmental domains. These are designed to deliver experiential learning opportunities that provide a lifelong foundation for building emotional intelligence, resilience, and happiness.
The first level, known as Watt Level of the EmPOWER Programme is compulsory for all students and will be offered in their first year of undergraduate degree studies. Watt Level focuses on Leading Self and Defining Impact and is delivered through POWER talk sessions conducted by a panel of experienced POWER speakers. The other three levels (Kilowatt, Megawatt and Gigawatt) are achieved through a more personalised approach developed by students with their Personal Tutors.

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia’s campus is based in the modern garden-city of Putrajaya just 25km south of Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur. Putrajaya is a growing, dynamic city and its proximity allows easy access to the extensive cultural, leisure and retail amenities of the buzzing metropolis.

You don’t have to complete the application in one session; you can save the information you have already entered and return to complete it at a later date. There is a help facility on each page of the online form.
